Client's estimate they are saving £6,000 with their GSHP against their existing fossil fuel system. As an investment the cost of the Ground Source Heat Pump system will be repaid within only four years.

The site of this NIHE social housing pilot installation is in Moyargot, Ballycastle. Co Antrim. The installation is a Transen 11kW Transen Beta - single phase unit. The home includes space heating, domestic hot water and electrical appliances. In 2005 the running costs were approximately £630 per annum.
As suppliers of the Ground Source Heat Pump System, Transen should also be commended for providing an excellent service and a well designed product.

Transen's suggested specification for our heating system and hot water supply was backed up by a detailed explanation (in layman's terms), which gave us confidence that our new house would be adequately heated throughout the year, with a consistent reliable supply of hot water. The system designed would also do so without relying on supplementary electric boilers/solutions - which was critical to us, as we believe such 'add on's' defeat the purpose of utilising a geothermal system ..."
